Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior PCB Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of complex, high-performance printed circuit boards for consumer electronic products. You will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs from concept through production.
This position is ideal for an engineer with deep technical expertise in high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, power integrity, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
Key Responsibilities
Design complex multilayer PCBs for consumer electronic products.
Create PCB layouts based on engineering schematics and product requirements.
Optimize designs for signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI compliance, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
Work closely with hardware engineers to define stack-ups, routing strategies, impedance control, and component placement.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering to ensure proper enclosure integration.
Generate manufacturing documentation, including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, Gerber/ODB++, BOMs, pick-and-place files, and design packages.
Support prototypes bring-up, debugging, design verification, and production ramp.
Review PCB designs, perform design rule checks (DRC), and ensure compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.
Interface with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.
Mentor junior PCB designers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and libraries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of professional PCB design experience.
Strong expertise in multilayer PCB layout for consumer electronics.
Proficiency with industry-standard PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Siemens Xpedition.
Strong understanding of:
High-speed digital design
DDR, USB, PCIe, HDMI, MIPI, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces
Signal integrity and power integrity principles
Controlled impedance routing
EMC/EMI design techniques
Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT)
Experience working directly with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
